Folk Viola and Cello Duets
This is a collection of traditional folk tunes arranged as viola and cello duets.
The viola plays the melody, and the cello plays a harmony / bassline part.
The viola parts all fit on the viola in first position. They use the same fingering as is traditionally used when these tunes are played on a violin, but as they are played on a viola they are transposed down by a fifth.
The tunes included in the three volumes of duets are the same ones that are in Folk Viola Sheet Music Volumes 1, 2 and 3, my packs of solo and session tunes for viola.
You can buy each volume separately, or get all three volumes together in a discounted bundle.
Cellists may also be interested in my dedicated folk cello sheet music site, which has sheet music for playing cello solos, and basslines and transposed melodies for joining in with traditional music sessions.
